About Meadowlands Museum

The Meadowlands Museum, founded in 1961, offers visitors a connection to the history and culture of the Meadowlands region.  The Museum welcomes hundreds of children and adults each year to special events, rotating exhibits, and its permanent exhibits which include: the life of poet/doctor William Carlos Williams; the geological history of the area; regional mining industry; a pre-electric kitchen and laundry room; and the role of horses and the livery stable at the Rutherford Train Station. The Museum also offers specialized group tours, and research assistance for family, businesses and community projects.

The Meadowlands Museum is housed at the Yereance-Berry House (an original Dutch farmhouse overlooking the Meadowlands, dating to 1804 and a registered national historic site).  The Museum building is located at 91 Crane Avenue, Rutherford, near the intersection of Routes 3 and 17.  It is open to the public on Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10 am-4 pm, and by special group arrangements.  Admission is free; donations help keep the Museum operating for all.  Please contact us at or 201-935-1175 for more information.  Visit us at and
